Gulf of Mexico Restoration Projects Database
There are a myriad of restoration efforts underway to respond to the Deepwater Horizon disaster, including the Natural Resources Damage Assessment, the NFWF Gulf Environmental Benefit Fund, and the RESTORE Act. Over the coming years, hundreds more projects will likely be funded.
This database tracks projects that have been approved under the three main restoration processes. The sortable display allows users to filter by state and funding mechanism; the searchable database allows users to filter results by state or county. Our Restoration Projects Map indicates where approved Deepwater Horizon restoration and recovery projects are taking place.
Each project entry generally includes a project description, information on public participation, cost, and a link to the project webpage. When included, the project description is taken directly from the project webpage, and other project details may be taken directly from the project webpage as well (though quotation marks weren’t consistently used). We make every effort to keep these pages up-to-date. If you have suggestions for projects or updates to add, please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
